We have our own toolshop, which allows us to make new tools quickly, maintain them on an ongoing basis, develop non-standard head shapes and optimise thread geometry. Every new project follows a clearly defined development process, adapted to the complexity of the product.
In-house toolshop
The toolshop covers the full cycle — from making new tools for new products to regular maintenance and repair of existing tools. This gives us short response times when developing new projects and stable, uninterrupted production for existing batches, because any tool wear or damage is dealt with in-house, without waiting for external suppliers.
The most common adaptations we develop for customers concern the geometry of the screw head (e.g. special shapes for a specific drive or grip) and the thread geometry (for a stable hold in different materials). We make screws mainly from steel and stainless steel, depending on the requirements of each project.
How a new screw is developed
- Feasibility analysis — we review the customer's drawing or specification and assess technical feasibility, material selection and possible geometry optimisations.
- Tool making — in our in-house toolshop we make or adapt the tooling needed to produce the part.
- Sample batch — we produce samples to verify dimensions, mechanical properties and functionality.
- Approval — the customer approves the samples or documentation (including PPAP if required).
- Series production — once approved, the project moves into regular series production.
Development time depends on the complexity of each project — from the complexity of the geometry to the requirements for testing and documentation.
Technical competence and partnership
We do not just manufacture to drawing — we work with the customer from the development phase, analysing feasibility, advising on geometry optimisation and helping with material selection.
Interwolf is a technical partner in series production for OEM and Tier 1 manufacturers.
