Machine park
Production is based on our own machine park of more than 50 machines for cold forming, thread rolling and mechanical and optical sorting. The core of production consists of 26 cold-forming presses and 15 thread-rolling machines, covering the size range from M2.5 to M8.
- 26 cold-forming presses
- 15 thread-rolling machines
- mechanical sorting and three optical sorting machines
- production of screws with washers
- line for small packs and assembly kits
- in-house toolshop for tool development and maintenance
Production process
Cold forming as the basic production method allows very high material efficiency, as the material is not cut away but plastically deformed. Production is based on cold forming and thread rolling, which deliver high productivity, consistent quality and dimensional repeatability even in large batches.
- Incoming material inspectionFor steel and stainless steel we check the suppliers' certificates and test reports.
- Cold formingOn the presses, wire is formed into a blank with a head and drive.
- Thread rollingMetric, self-tapping or self-drilling thread, depending on the project.
- Heat treatmentsubcontractorCarried out by certified external partners.
- Hardness testingAfter heat treatment, hardness is checked in-house.
- Surface coatingsubcontractorZinc plating, phosphating and other protective coatings.
- Mechanical and optical sortingOptical inspection on request, with a target of up to 50 ppm.
- Packaging and dispatchTo customer specification, including small units and assembly kits.
In-house toolshop
The toolshop covers the full cycle — from making new tools for new products to regular maintenance and repair of existing tools. Any tool wear or damage is dealt with in-house, without waiting for external suppliers, which ensures stable, uninterrupted production. More about developing new products on the Development page.
Capacity and organisation
We produce more than 500 million screws a year. Production is geared towards batches from around 100,000 to several million pieces, and an important share consists of projects with volumes of tens of millions for European OEM and Tier 1 manufacturers. We work in two or three shifts.
Computer-aided production provides full transparency and control from receipt of the order to dispatch of the products. Machines and measuring instruments are connected to a central measuring station (CAQ) — more on the Quality & certificates page.
